# Youth Impacts — The Global 60

> **Youth Impacts** is a Model United Nations organisation. Its flagship New York Model United Nations experience is **The Global 60** — "Model United Nations, Reimagined." Tagline: "Diplomacy. Ambition. Experience." Sixty high-school and university delegates, New York City, 21 – 24 April 2027. Admission by application, reviewed on a rolling basis; there is no interview. Always write the event name as "The Global 60".

Youth Impacts Model United Nations (YIMUN) is the academic history behind The Global 60; its General Assembly has run since 2025. The Global 60 and Youth Impacts are independent programmes and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the United Nations.

## Key facts

A four-day international leadership experience with a two-day academic summit at its core: Day 01 Represent (Wed 21 April), Day 02 Negotiate (Thu 22 April), Day 03 Experience (Fri 23 April), Day 04 Celebrate (Sat 24 April). The programme concludes with the gala on the Saturday evening; delegates travelling internationally may plan departure for Sunday 25 April, Four nights at the delegate hotel; check-out and departures on Sunday 25 April.
- **Where:** New York City. A Manhattan hotel, announced to admitted delegates before any payment is due. Committee sessions at the hotel or a nearby Manhattan venue. Gala venue in Manhattan, announced to admitted delegates. Nothing is named until contracted.
- **Cohort:** Sixty delegates. One committee: a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly, all sixty in one room, with a dais of two chairs and two vice-chairs.
- **Eligibility:** High school and university students worldwide, typically aged 15 to 22 in April 2027. No Model UN experience required. Under-18s need a parent or guardian's consent.
- **Terminology:** "delegate" before and during the conference; "Global 60 Fellow" after the induction at the gala on Saturday 24 April. Applicants are never called Fellows.
- **Admission:** apply (a short application, about ten minutes) → application review (rolling, for eligibility and programme fit; no interview at any stage) → admissions decision (by email; under 18, also to a parent) → secure your place (choose the tier and pay in full or a first payment of $1,000 or more through the secure link; place held 14 days; admission is confirmed once the required payment is received) → delegate onboarding → New York. Rounds close 15 December 2026, 15 January 2027 and 31 January 2027; every offer must be confirmed by the final payment deadline, 7 February 2027 (the 14-day hold is capped at that date); waitlist after round three. Enrolment may close before the published deadline once all sixty places are confirmed. Response within 72 hours. An optional admissions call is available to students and parents for questions only. No acceptance rates are published.
- **Pricing phases:** early-bird prices (below) for the first 12 places confirmed across all three packages, until 20 December 2026, whichever comes first; after that the regular price (Delegate $4,299 · Delegate, Envoy $5,099 · Delegate, Excellency $6,999); the final payment deadline is 7 February 2027. All prices USD per delegate. The price is set by the date of payment, or of the first payment under a payment plan. Applications submitted before 9 October 2026 keep the schedule they applied under ($2,999 / $3,999 / $4,999, $800 more from 21 December 2026).
- **Tiers (identical academic programme on every tier; no tier affects country assignment, speaking time, committee role, awards or recognition):** Delegate $3,799 early bird, the essential Global 60 experience (shared twin room, four nights, every official session, scheduled meals and refreshments, the New York sightseeing experience, the planned UN visit, group airport transfers, the gala, a participation certificate, event photography, the delegate kit, the Global 60 Network) · Delegate, Envoy $4,599 early bird, the enhanced diplomatic experience (everything in Delegate in the same shared twin room, plus an enhanced kit, small-group leadership networking and one parent or guest seat at the gala) · Delegate, Excellency $6,499 early bird, the signature New York experience (everything in Envoy plus a private room, a shared helicopter sightseeing flight and a shared limousine city experience — each subject to weather, operator availability, safety requirements and parental consent, with a substitute if they cannot run — a private airport transfer, a premium welcome kit and two parent or guest seats at the gala).
- **Not included:** flights, visas, personal and travel insurance, personal spending. No cheaper tier. Offers can be paid in full or in two payments: a first payment of $1,000 or more confirms the seat, and the balance is charged to the same card in one payment on 1 March 2027. Schools can request an invoice.

## The four pillars

1. **The Assembly** — "Debate the world." Model United Nations: one committee, a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly (sixty delegates, dais of two chairs and two vice-chairs), three committee sessions across two concentrated academic days (Wednesday 21 April afternoon; Thursday 22 April morning and afternoon) and the vote on Thursday 22 April, followed by the academic awards and the academic closing that evening. The academic programme concludes on 22 April; 23 April and 24 April are not committee days. Standard rules of procedure, position papers, single delegation (one delegate represents each member state), country assignments accounting for age, experience and representation. Working language: English. Chairs: two chairs and two vice-chairs, selected by application (aged 18+, Model UN chairing or senior-delegate experience, background screening required); chair applications close 15 December 2026 with decisions in January 2027. The official committee agenda (one agenda, one committee): "Governing Artificial Intelligence: Safeguarding Humanity, Bridging Global Divides, and Shaping Our Shared Future". The proposed outcome is named "The Global 60 Framework for Responsible Artificial Intelligence" only if a resolution is negotiated and adopted by the delegates. The Global 60 is an independent simulation inspired by the UN's ongoing work on AI governance (UNGA resolution A/RES/79/325 of 26 August 2025 established the Global Dialogue on AI Governance; its first session was held in Geneva on 6–7 July 2026 and its second is scheduled for New York on 3–4 May 2027); it is not an official UN agenda item, and resolutions are not submitted to the UN. Awards across the General Assembly: Best Delegate, Outstanding Delegate, Honourable Mention, Best Position Paper. Global 60 recognitions: Outstanding Diplomacy, Coalition Builder, The Voice, Emerging Global Leader, The Global 60 Award. High school and university tracks recognised separately where necessary.
2. **The Founder Lab** — "Build what comes next." From diplomacy to entrepreneurship; problems before products. Approximately 75 minutes on Thursday 22 April, the second academic day, between Committee Session II and the final committee session: a founder's practical story (problems, validation, customers, teams, co-founders, execution), then the Problem Marketplace (AI, education, health, climate, finance, media, social impact, consumer products, other). "Your future co-founder may already be in the room." Not a startup conference or pitch competition.
3. **The Global 60 Gala** — "An evening worth dressing for." The evening of Saturday 24 April 2027, black tie, Manhattan: the finale of the programme, after the academic conference has concluded. Red-carpet arrival and photography, formal dinner, four to eight selected delegate voices (60–90 seconds each; every delegate records an address earlier), the Global 60 recognitions (the academic awards are presented at the academic closing on 22 April, not repeated), the induction of the cohort as Global 60 Fellows, the cohort portrait (an annual tradition), the closing address, then the celebration. Formal speech time under 25 minutes.
4. **New York** — "New York becomes the classroom." Day 03, Friday 23 April: a guided visit to United Nations Headquarters is planned, subject to availability, scheduling and UN security requirements (guided tours in groups of about twenty, with staff); a curated New York City experience for the cohort beyond the conference room; networking and professional photography; optional premium experiences (the Manhattan helicopter flight, only for delegates whose package includes it, subject to weather, availability, operational requirements and package terms; the city programme continues for everyone else; no academic advantage). Not a committee day.

## The programme (exact times are confirmed in the delegate handbook; slots only)

- **Day 01 · Wednesday 21 April — Represent** ("Enter the room. Speak for a nation.", academic core, business attire): arrivals and the welcome desk (credential, programme, numbered Global 60 pin, delegate folio), registration and portraits, the opening ceremony (short film, welcome, orientation, introduction to The Global 60), final Model UN preparation (rules-of-procedure refresher, public speaking), Committee Session I (opening speeches, country positions, initial debate, moderated caucuses, first blocs), welcome dinner with curated seating.
- **Day 02 · Thursday 22 April — Negotiate** ("Build coalitions. Create solutions. Lead.", academic core, business attire): Committee Session II (caucuses, negotiation, coalition building, resolution drafting and merging, amendment strategy), lunch, the Founder Lab (about 75 minutes), the final committee session (final negotiations, amendments, voting procedure), the vote and the chairs' closing summary, the academic awards and the academic closing. The academic programme concludes.
- **Day 03 · Friday 23 April — Experience** ("Take diplomacy beyond the conference room. Experience New York together.", New York experience): United Nations Headquarters (planned), a curated New York City experience, optional premium experiences for delegates whose package includes them, dinner with the cohort.
- **Day 04 · Saturday 24 April — Celebrate** ("Recognition. Community. The Global 60 Gala.", finale, smart casual by day and black tie by night): free time and cohort activities, portraits and recorded addresses, reset, the Global 60 Gala, induction and the celebration. "You arrived representing different nations. You leave as The Global 60." Hotel check-out and departures on Sunday 25 April.

## After New York — the Global 60 Network

A private alumni community · a ninety-day check-in · Founder Lab team continuation · one virtual alumni gathering in the year after · introductions where available. No lifetime services are promised.

## Supervision

Faculty advisors: The Global 60 admits delegates; no chaperone or advisor place is sold. A school sending its own faculty advisor makes the advisor's own arrangements. On request, Youth Impacts arranges an advisor's accommodation at the delegate hotel and transfers with the delegation, from $1,500. This does not include the delegate programme.

Youth Impacts staff and chaperones on site throughout; background-screened staff for anyone working with minors; no alcohol for underage delegates; nightly curfew and room check for under-18s; 24-hour parent emergency contact; medical, dietary and photography consent forms after admission; travel insurance required. Chaperone ratio is confirmed in the delegate handbook. Rooming: same-gender twin rooms on Delegate and Envoy, a private room on Excellency only; delegates under 18 share only with delegates under 18; room lists set by Youth Impacts. Parents are welcome in New York and book their own accommodation (the delegate hotel block is for delegates and staff); the programme is delegates and staff only apart from the gala seats on the Envoy and Excellency tiers; parents can see their child in the Saturday-morning free time. Working language: English (no certificate required).

## Travel windows
Land at JFK, Newark (EWR) or LaGuardia (LGA) by late morning on Wednesday 21 April 2027 (opening ceremony at midday, Committee Session I in the afternoon). Depart any time on Sunday 25 April 2027 after morning check-out. Transfers included on every tier; exact transfer windows in the delegate handbook.

## Before New York (confirmed delegates)
Country assignment within fourteen days of confirming the place. Committee Background Guide, Delegate Handbook, Rules of Procedure, Position Paper Guide and Research Guide published by 1 March 2027. Position papers due 1 April 2027, read by the dais. Delegate briefing call and advisor briefing call in the first week of April 2027. ## Cancellation policy

Fees are non-refundable. A delegate who withdraws before the conference receives a non-transferable credit voucher (issued in the delegate's name) for the amounts actually paid, valid for one year towards a future Youth Impacts conference. No cash refunds, including for illness, bereavement or visa refusal; travel insurance covering cancellation is required. If Youth Impacts cancels the conference, a full refund or a one-year credit voucher is offered. Withdrawals: info@youthimpacts.com.
