Model UN · The Assembly

  • Research and represent an assigned country's position
  • Write a position paper read by a chair
  • Speak from the floor of a chamber of approximately twenty
  • Negotiate, form coalitions and draft resolutions with people who disagree
  • Understand rules of procedure and how a vote is won or lost

The Founder Lab · 75 minutes

  • Entrepreneurial thinking: problems before products
  • Problem solving and validation, taught as a method
  • Teamwork with peers from other countries and schools
  • Commercial awareness: customers, costs, basic economics

03 Supervision and logistics

How they are
looked after.

Where a detail is not yet fixed, it says so. Everything is confirmed in the delegate handbook before any payment is due.

  1. SupervisionStaff and chaperones on site throughout, including overnight. Ratio confirmed in the handbook.
  2. StaffingBackground-screened staff for anyone working with minors.
  3. HotelA Manhattan hotel, announced to admitted delegates before any payment is due.
  4. RoomingSame-gender twin rooms, or a private room on the Private and Excellency tiers. Lists set by Youth Impacts.
  5. TransportationThe cohort moves together with staff. Airport transfers included on every tier.
  6. Medical and dietaryA form after admission. Requirements passed to every venue.
  7. CurfewNightly curfew and room check for under-18s. Nobody leaves the hotel unaccompanied.
  8. AlcoholNone for underage delegates, at any event, without exception.
  9. Emergency contactA 24-hour parent line, first arrival to last departure.
  10. Photography consentSigned after admission. Delegates may opt out of published material.
  11. Travel insuranceRequired: travel, medical and cancellation cover.
  12. VisasFamilies arrange visas. A formal letter of admission is provided. Apply in round one if you need one.
  13. School advisorsSupervision is by Youth Impacts staff; no chaperone place is sold. A school's own advisor makes their own arrangements, or Youth Impacts arranges hotel and transfers from $1,500.

Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 April 2027. Arrivals from midday on the Thursday; the conference closes around 2:00 PM on the Sunday.

Three tiers.
One academic programme.

The academic experience is identical on every tier. No tier affects country assignment, speaking time, committee role, awards or recognition.

06 Parent FAQ

The questions we
hear most.

Can I come to New York with my child?

Yes. The reception and welcome dinner are delegates and staff only. The gala seats one parent on the Private tier and two on Excellency.

My child has never done Model UN. Is that a problem?

No. First-timers are admitted alongside experienced delegates. Friday's preparation session covers procedure before the first chamber opens.

Is the hotel confirmed?

A Manhattan hotel, announced to admitted delegates before any payment is due. Everyone stays at the same hotel.

Is the United Nations visit guaranteed?

An official guided visit to United Nations Headquarters is planned as part of the programme, subject to availability and UN security requirements.

Does paying more help my child academically?

No. The academic experience is identical on every tier. No tier affects country assignment, speaking time, committee role, awards or recognition.

What happens if my child cannot attend after paying?

Full refund within fourteen days of payment, then a published schedule. Medical, bereavement and visa cases are treated separately. See terms and refunds.

What happens after New York?

The Global 60 Network: a private alumni community, a ninety-day check-in, Founder Lab support, one virtual gathering, and introductions where we can make them.
