01 Academic objectives

Serious Model UN,
at a size that works.

Three small chambers. Approximately twenty delegates each. Topics released to admitted delegates ahead of the conference.

Committee structure

  • Three chambers, each with its own chair and dais, approximately twenty delegates each
  • Three committee sessions: Friday afternoon, Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning
  • A Global Plenary on Sunday where every chamber presents its outcome
  • Standard Model UN rules of procedure, published in the delegate handbook
  • Position papers submitted before New York and read by the chairs
  • Awards per chamber; high school and university tracks recognised separately where necessary

  • Rules of Procedure, Position Paper Guide, Research Guide and Delegate Handbook, published to admitted delegates
  • Committee Background Guides, one per chamber, once topics are approved
  • The free thirteen-module Youth Impacts training programme, usable in class now

02 The practical questions

What your school
will ask.

  1. EligibilityHigh school and university students worldwide, typically aged 15 to 22 in April 2027. No previous Model UN experience is required.
  2. Who can applyIndividuals, school delegations and university delegations. Every delegate is admitted on their own application.
  3. Faculty advisor expectationsOne accompanying advisor for a delegation of minors. Advisors make their own arrangements, or Youth Impacts arranges hotel and transfers from $1,500; the delegate programme is not included.
  4. SafetyStaff on site throughout, background-screened, nightly curfew for under-18s, no alcohol for minors, 24-hour contact.
  5. Group application processRegister interest below. Delegation guide within 72 hours. Delegates apply individually or by roster.
  6. Invoices and paymentOne invoice per delegation, by card or bank transfer.
  7. Letters and invitationsA letter of admission for every delegate. An invitation letter for the school where needed.
  8. Travel planningDelegations book their own flights. The delegate handbook covers arrival windows, the hotel, and how the cohort moves through the city with staff.
  9. Parent documentationConsent, medical and dietary, photography and travel-insurance forms are issued after admission and can be routed through the school.
  10. Certificates and recognitionA certificate for every delegate, award citations where earned, a delegation letter for the school.
